The NDLSEC assembly was held last night in San Diego, CA. Highlights from the Incumbent President Dr. William Fales, the new Executive Director of NDLSF John A. Williams and E. Brooke Lerner from the NDLSF board of directors include the following:
* Revisions to the NDLS curriculum includes learner-center instruction, increased integration of technology, the "flipped classroom" methodology, integration of distance learning with engaged in-person learning and eliminating the "death by Power Point" traditional lectures.
*CDLS now stands for Community Disaster Life Support with an increased focus on training community response to disasters.
*Advanced Disaster Life Support Triage Cards are scheduled to be released in the next 30-45 days.
*Pilot testing of the new curriculum anticipated within the next 6 months
*The new Executive Director of NDLSF is John A. Williams .
Dr. Jason M. Lui is the new NDLSEC President-Elect.
Region 7 Healthcare Coalition is sponsoring a community Basic Disaster Life Support Course on October 9, 2018 for those interested in learning their role in a disaster. The course is being held at the Gaylord University Center and is from 08:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. There is no cost to the student.
